American Legion Post 14 First Annual Poker Run
American Legion Post 14 sponsored the First Annual Poker Run to raise money for Proyecto of Pitillal Busca Un Amigo (Home for children with disabilities). Four restaurants and bars in Old Town Vallarta participated in hugely successful event. $9980 pesos was raised for the children. The Poker started at Steve's Sports Bar for registration and drawing of the first card. After Steve's everyone strolled over to Dick's Halfway Inn Bar and Grill for the second card. Just a short walk away, the third card was drawn at Asaderos. After Asaderos, every sauntered across the street to Joe's Jacks Fish Shack for the fourth card. Finally, everyone returned to Steve's for the final card and announcement of the winners. The best hand won $1100 pesos, with the second best receiving $660 pesos and the third place hand won $440 pesos. And in the sprint of the event, all the winners donated their winnings back to the children. The directors of the Proyecto of Pitillal Busca Un Amigo were present after the event and the American Legion presented them with the donation. The American Legion would like to give a special thanks to Jay Sadler, and Jim and Sue Brockway who organized this year's event, to the restaurants that participated, and all the folks that joined us to make this event a big success.
