USS Jarret Visits Puerto Vallarta
The USS Jarret visited Puerto Vallarta for 3 days arriving 11 February 2011. It was the first visit to Puerto Vallarta in 20 years. The crew of the Jarret hosted a reception on the 11th of February for local dignities. Members of American Legion Post 14 and the Navy League attended the reception, as well the Mayor of Puerto Vallarta and the US Consulate. Below are a few photos of the reception.
While in Puerto Vallarta the crew donated medical supplies and food to several local charities. Members of American Legion Post 14 assisted in the distribution of the donated items.
Several families of the crew were flown to Puerto Vallarta for the occasion. Many of the family members joined the crew of the USS Jarret for the trip back to San Diego where the vessel will be decommissioned.
